Review Dyson Hot 1st Gen bladeless fan

Its finally here: Summer. This means its time for you to hit up your closest electronic store to get a new fan. For those looking for not just a regular fan, the Dyson Hot blade-less fan might caught your eye when it is on display in the stores. Well, does it work? Is it worth the extra dollars to make it your room heater also? Lets explore deeper if this fan is a cold or hot buy for this season.
First impression:
Glossy white with a slim profile, this is definitely a fan for a small bedroom. Just by having it on display make guest wonder what it is. Right out the box you get a fan that can act double as a heater. With the fan includes a remote that magnetically attached from the top. The remote allows you to control your fan speed, temperature and motion. You can also tilt the fan to give a more proper angle to where you want your air to go.

Test Drive:
This fan works two modes. When set to 32 it will be set to regular fan (no heating/cooling), anything above is then set as a heater. The heater is regulated by the fan, so if you room reaches the temperature you want, it will stop running. The fan is what it is, it cools the air slower then a regular fan - so if your room is an oven, its going to take awhile for this fan to cool it down. You can also adjust the blade speed; it improves your cooling/heating capabilities - but sadly it makes the fan really loud (even on the lowest speed). Then the fan can  also span left to right for an even distribution.

Finally my favorite, the wireless remote. Not only the magnetic attachment calls for convenience, the remote
it self is not excessive. The remote allows you to control your fan speed, temperature, span mode and it can also turn it off an on; that means if it gets too cold/hot, you dont need to leave your bed to turn it off. I love the fact that you dont have to point directly to the fan to control it; this gives us more freedom on where to put the fans at.

Opinion:
I always love the Dyson vacuum cleaner, for the price I pay - it cleans very well. However, this fan seems like a miss for me. This particular model is designed more to be a heater (although some store will also claim to be efficient for cooling), that being said - the cooling capabilities is very inferior compared to the heating. Unless you have extra cash lying around, I say its not worth the $299.99 price tag - but if you do decide to buy, get the second generation (where they have enhance the cooling fan).
